In its theoretical form, the four-door fastback is more than four inches longer and seven inches wider than the midsize Q70, and just a few inches short of the long-wheelbase Q70L.
The company hopes the flagship design will “shake up the status quo” in the premium full-size luxury segment, showcasing new autonomy and hybrid powertrain technologies.
The form takes inspiration from the Essence coupe concept, stretched into a model that aims to take on the Porsche Panamera, Maserati Quattroporte and Audi A7, among other early entrants to the segment.
Designers have omitted side mirrors to leave the profile uninterrupted, while the doors open “portal style” to showcase the cabin when driver and passengers exit the vehicle. The interior is outfitted with carbon-fiber, aluminum and leather, with an individualized approach described as “1+1+1+1″ seating.
Full details will be confirmed on October 2 at the Paris show.
