The company posted three ads on its YouTube channel, kicking off the “Live in Your Moment” campaign directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. Two of the spots will air on broadcast TV beginning September 6.
Aiming for an ‘authentic’ feel, each of the segments features McConaughey vocalizing internal dialogue as he drives around in the MKC. Personal thoughts are paired with comments about the Lincoln brand and the new crossover.
“There is an authenticity about this vehicle, and it’s reflected in this campaign,” said McConaughey. “It’s easy to shut out the rest of the world, and Nicolas does a remarkable job of portraying that in these spots.”
Lincoln is hoping the high-profile actor will inspire buyers to embrace the company’s foray into the ever-growing crossover segment.
