Cadillac to separate, establish new HQ in New York

September 23, 2014
As part of a strategic realignment in support of Cadillac’s expansion, the brand will move its headquarters to New York City in 2015. The brand will operate as a separate business unit under Johan de Nysschen, who was named president of the brand in August.

Citing the freedom it will afford the brand in its operations, GM President Dan Ammann called the realignment “the next logical step…in pursuit of further global growth” for Cadillac.

While the New York headquarters will be home to Cadillac’s global operations, there are no plans to relocate the product development teams currently based in Michigan.

“We are very proud of our Detroit roots and heritage, and the majority of the Cadillac workforce will remain in Michigan,” de Nysschen said.

Cadillac’s recent management changes will be augmented by further additions to the leadership team to be announced later.
