Bentley aims for 20K annual sales by 2020

December 16, 2014
Bentley has reportedly set an ambitious sales goal of 20,000 annual units within a few years.
The company broke a sales record in 2013 with 10,120 vehicles distributed across the globe, up 19 percent from 2012. Speaking to German outlet Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Bentley chief Wolfgang Dürheimer suggests VW’s British luxury brand aims to keep the momentum going with double 2013 sales by the end of the decade.

US sales were only up by a few percent to 2,591 units for the first 11 months of 2014, however Dürheimer hints at another record-breaking year with just a few weeks of sales left before 2015.

“We can now safely say that we have continued to grow in volume, revenue and profit,” the executive added.

An expanded lineup is expected to be a key element in Bentley’s growth strategy. A new SUV will require approximately $1.23 billion in investment, with a launch likely to arrive in 2016, while the Grand Convertible concept recently made its Los Angeles debut as another likely candidate for production.
