Chrysler has encountered a problem with the instrument cluster in the 2015 Challenger.
Recall documents suggest a manufacturing deficiency related to the cluster’s microprocessor can leave the display inoperative for several minutes during the startup process, particularly when the ambient temperature is high.

The electronic glitch can prevent drivers from being able to view the vehicle speed and other information as they begin a journey, increasing the risk of a crash. The issue also makes the cars non-compliant with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
The company suggests the malfunction is caused by a circuit overload condition, which has been remedied via a software update that splits the startup sequence into three stages to reduce the electrical current load.
