Honda announced Wednesday that it is recalling 1,252 Crosstours due to a potential defect with side-curtain airbags.
This is not an expansion of the massive Takata airbag recall campaign that is currently underway at Honda and several other automakers. “This issue is not related to other recent actions involving frontal airbag inflators,” the automaker said in a statement.

A manufacturing error in the tubing attached to the side curtain airbag inflator may result in improper deployment of the airbag in a crash, increasing the risk of occupant injury. Honda says the issue was discovered in internal quality testing and no incidents or injuries have been reported by customers.
The replacement campaign will begin in January.
