Hennessey unveils 557hp Cadillac Escalade

April 24, 2014

After spending time behind the wheel of the 2015 Escalade earlier this month, we can say that the SUV, with its 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, isn’t exactly lacking in the engine department. Still, there will undoubtedly be certain power-hungry buyers looking for even more muscle, and for these folks, Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering has just the thing.

Hennessey has announced an HPE550 supercharger upgrade that boosts the Escalade’s 6.2-liter V8 up to a mighty 557 ponies and 542 lb-ft of twist. Working in conjunction with the blower, which runs 6.0 psi of boost, to make those gains possible are a high-flow intercooler and special engine management calibration.

In addition to the performance goodies, the HPE550 package includes special badging, embroidered floormats, and serial-numbered plaques on the dash and engine. More importantly, Hennessey also throws in a little peace of mind by including dyno tuning, road testing and a 3 year/36,000-mile limited warranty.

The pricetag for the HPE550 treatment is $15,950, and consumers with deep pockets can spring for other like $6,950 20-inch forged monoblock wheels. It will be offered not only on the Escalade but also on all models with GM’s latest 6.2-liter V8, including the new-generation GMC Yukon Denali and Denali XL, GMC Sierra Denali and Chevrolet Silverado.
