Image leak reveals Jaguar F-Type Project 7

June 24, 2014
The mystery model from Jaguar’s newly formed Special Operations division may have been revealed ahead of its scheduled debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The company may be ready to unveil the production version of its F-Type Project 7 concept car, which appears to be the subject of several images posted by 4WheelsNews.

Considering the prototype’s introduction at the 2013 Festival of Speed, the timing of the apparent image leak suggests the production model may be on tap for the anniversary.

If the images are accurate, Jaguar has maintained the historic D-Type-inspired racing livery but added a second seat rather than a helmet holder where a passenger could sit.

The production model may be powered by a supercharged V8 engine that produces 550 horsepower. The company initially expected the car to propel to 60 mph from a standstill in 4.1 seconds, with a 186-mph top end, though finalized specs have not been confirmed.

Jaguar Land Rover is one of several automakers that is promising to unveil new models this week at the UK event.
