The company initially promised more than 420 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque for the Mustang GT. The final performance figures are said to be upgraded to 435 ponies and 400 lb-ft of twist, according to Road & Track.
The base model’s 3.7-liter V6 engine, which received a 305-hp rating in 2014, claims five fewer horses for the latest model year. Early reports suggested the torque would also be downgraded to widen a gap with the four-cylinder EcoBoost mill, however the latest details suggest the figure remains unchanged at 280 lb-ft.
The new 2.3-liter engine manages to produce 310 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque, thanks to a turbocharger.
The latest announcement rejects rumors pointing to a significant weight gain of several hundred pounds, though the various configurations are all slightly heavier than their predecessors.
The 2015 Mustang lineup is expected to arrive in showrooms this fall, with prices starting at $24,425 (including freight).
