Tesla opens 50th European Supercharger station

Tesla Motors, maker of the Model S electric sedan, has opened its 50th Supercharger location in Europe. Tesla’s Supercharger network allows Model S owners to charge up their batteries for free.

Tesla’s 50th European Supercharger station – which is the company’s 168th worldwide – opened in Narbonne, France. Tesla now has Superchargers located throughout mainland Europe and the United Kingdom, allowing Model S owners to travel popular routes like Oslo-Stockholm-Copenhagen, Hamburg to Geneva and Berlin to Frankfurt.

Tesla will open two more European Superchargers this week in London and Birmingham.


Tesla is rapidly expanding its Supercharger infrastructure in Europe, having opened its first location just over a year ago.


According to the California-based automaker, European Supercharger stations have provides 600 MWh of energy to Model S drivers, which is enough to drive to the moon and back four-and-a-half times.
