A new addition to Dodge’s police lineup for 2014, the Dodge Charger Pursuit AWD lapped Grattan Raceway in 1:33.85, setting a new record for an all-wheel drive police vehicle. The Dodge Charger Pursuit AWD’s average lap time of 1:34.75 was the fastest ever recorded at the track.
Although the Dodge Charger Pursuit AWD holds the average lap record at Grattan, the rear-wheel drive version of the sedan holds the single lap record at 1:33.70.
“With the record-holding rear-wheel drive Dodge Charger Pursuit and now the fastest-ever recorded all-wheel drive model, Chrysler Group offers those who protect and serve us with the best pursuit-rated sedans in the business,” said Peter Grady, Vice President of Network Development and Fleet, Chrysler Group LLC.
Thanks to a new high-performance brake system, the Charger Pursuit AWD also took home a best-in-class stopping performance with a stopping distance 127 feet from 60mph.
The Dodge Charger Pursuit AWD will go head-to-head with Ford’s Taurus-based Police Interceptor in the AWD segment.
