SEMA LIVE: 600hp Toca-tuned Hyundai Genesis

November 5, 2014
Hyundai has unveiled a 600 horsepower version of its Genesis sedan at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Tuned by Toca Marketing Group and referred to as the ‘Steel Phoenix,’ the latest build relies on a twin Garrett turbocharger setup and ARK catback exhaust to squeeze 600 horsepower from the Genesis’ 5.0-liter V8 engine.

Naturally, the SEMA car is dropped with an AirRex air suspension system and features 21-inch three-piece wheels. Upgraded brakes can be seen behind the gunmetal rims, with eight-piston calipers up front and six-piston components in the rear.

“The main focus of this build was to zone in on the luxury aspect, while improving performance in parallel,” said Toca founder John Toca. “Although I wasn’t overly concerned about pushing crazy horsepower numbers, the custom-fabricated twin turbo setup adds 180 horsepower over the stock motor.”

The exterior is differentiated by wide-body fenders and quarter panels, new front and rear bumpers and a carbon-fiber diffuser, while the interior features a long list of ‘executive’ treatments with custom Alea stitched leather throughout.

The Steel Phoenix is joined at the SEMA show by a 1,000-horsepower Genesis Coupe, a 550-pony Genesis Sedan, and a Hellcat-killing Sonata.
