Is this the 2016 Acura ILX?

November 6, 2014
A lone leaked image might have prematurely revealed the updated 2016 Acura ILX ahead of its scheduled debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show that will open its doors in a couple of weeks.
Erroneously published on Instagram, the alleged leaked image hints the facelifted ILX looks sportier than the current model thanks to a more aggressive front fascia that is noticeably inspired by the larger TLX. It gains angular LED headlights, a new bumper with large air intakes and a sharper rendition of Acura’s traditional beak-shaped grille.

Although interior pictures were not leaked, Acura promises the 2016 ILX will feature a “substantially upgraded interior design.” The sedan will benefit from the latest generation of Acura’s touch screen-based infotainment system and it will be offered with a host of electronic driving aids gleaned from more expensive members of the Acura lineup.

Technical details are being kept under wraps until the start of the LA show but Acura has confirmed the ILX will benefit from a number of mechanical upgrades. All-wheel drive might be offered at an extra cost for the first time in the nameplate’s history.

Acura will fully unveil the 2016 ILX on November 20th. Following its debut in southern California, the updated ILX will go on sale across the nation next spring.

Stay tuned to Leftlane for live images of the 2016 Acura ILX straight from the show floor in Los Angeles.
