Mazda has issued a recall for its 2014-2015 Mazda6, citing a problem with the tire-pressure monitoring system.
The company has discovered an issue that prevents the system from properly alerting drivers of a drop in pressure if all four tires gradually lose pressure at the same time.
The company has discovered an issue that prevents the system from properly alerting drivers of a drop in pressure if all four tires gradually lose pressure at the same time.
The behavior makes the Mazda6 non-compliant with federal regulations related to tire-pressure monitoring systems, and any vehicle driven with under-inflated tires is more prone to sudden tire failure.
The issue will be resolved via a software update, with the fixing program to begin on December 5. The campaign is said to affect nearly 100,000 vehicles.
