Ford offers $50 snowplow prep kit for F-150

As record-breaking cold continues to hover over the eastern half of the US, Ford has promoted the new F-150‘s snow-plowing capabilities.
The company claims the F-150 is the only light-duty truck with an available snow-plow prep kit for every cab configuration — regular, SuperCab and SuperCrew.

The redesigned pickup features an aluminum body and more high-strength steel in the frame, bringing the curb weight down by up to 700 pounds depending on the specific package.

“This leads to improved capability, performance and better handling, which is important for customers who need to plow snow,” the company said in a statement.

The snow-plow prep option is available as a $50 upgrade (excluding the plow) on the 2015 F-150 with the 5.0-liter V8 engine.
