Based on the facelifted Duster SUV that debuted in Frankfurt last month, the Duster De’tour will adopt a more rugged appearance inspired by the Dakar Rally. The teaser images hint the SUV will feature an orange and black two-tone paint job, LED lighting on both ends, a more aggressive front bumper that incorporates a pair of fog lights and bespoke alloy wheels mounted on high-profile tires.
Renault has not announced if the upcoming show car will gain interior or mechanical modifications.
The concept’s purpose remains an enigma. Although pure speculation at this point, it could hint at a limited-edition model similar to the Europe-only Duster Adventure that will go on sale on the South African market (where the Duster is sold with a Renault emblem), or it could announce the Romanian automaker’s entry into the grueling Dakar rally that will kick off on January 5th, 2014, in Rosario, Argentina.
A full set of details about the Dacia Duster De’tour concept will be available in the days leading up to its debut in the capital of South Africa. <![CDATA[
