June 3, 2015

Mitsubishi is slicing $200 from the MSRP of its updated 2016 Outlander SUV. The revised 2016 Outlander is expected to arrive in dealerships nationwide over the next few weeks.
Pricing for the 2016 Outlander will start from $22,995, undercutting the previous model by a couple of Benjamins. Despite that lower price point, the 2016 Outlander boast new styling and over 100 engineering improvements.

“The 2016 Outlander has a dynamic new design and a long list of engineering upgrades–it literally looks, drives and feels like an entirely new vehicle,” said Mitsubishi Executive Vice President, Don Swearingen. “Despite all of the improvements to the vehicle, we made the starting MSRP lower than the previous model year to make it an even more compelling value than before and to attract new buyers to the brand.”

New features for the 2016 Outlander include LED taillights, 18-inch alloy wheels and an updated interior. Powertrains carryover unchanged with a 166 horsepower 2.4L four-cylinder standing as the Outlander’s base motor, while upper-level GT models uses a 3.0L V6 rated at 224 horsepower. The four-cylinder is hooked to a CVT while the six-cylinder gets a conventional six-seed automatic.

Mitsubishi says it has also lowered the price of the Outlander’s optional Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control systems, but didn’t release specific pricing information.
