Storck, who founded a bicycle manufacturer named Storck Bicycles, commissioned Aston Martin’s Q division to design a collection of seven cars for himself and six of his friends. Identical in every way, the coupes feature a body made with several layers of carbon fiber that are interwoven in order to obtain a perfectly smooth finish. Aston says the process required developing a brand new manufacturing technique.
The body is painted jet black, but a bare carbon fiber stripe that runs down the entire length of the car hints at its lightweight construction. Other exterior modifications include machined Aston Martin badges on both ends and white “one of seven” logos on the rocker panels.
The interior has been upgraded with diamond-quilted black leather upholstery, “one of seven” logos embroidered into the headrests as well as gloss black trim on the dashboard and on the center console.
Aston Martin has not made any mechanical changes to the custom-built Vanquish. Power comes from a 6.0-liter V12 engine that generates 568 horsepower and 465 lb-ft. of torque, enough to send the coupe from zero to 60 mph in less than four seconds and on to a top speed of 200 mph.
Storck took delivery of the first car a couple of days ago, and the remaining six examples will be built and delivered before the end of the year. Aston has not revealed how much each coupe costs.
