Charity builds one-off 805-hp Dodge Challenger Hellcat

July 21, 2015

A one-off Dodge Challenger Hellcat and a classic 1970 Challenger R/T will be raffled off for a good cause.

Dubbed Hellcat X, the one-off model is a tribute to the experimental turbocharged and supercharged XF6F Hellcat airplane that was designed to fight against the Japanese during World War II. Starting with a stock Hellcat, Walsh Motorsport added a pair of beefy turbochargers to the 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine, a modification that bumps the mill’s output to over 800 horsepower.

Visually, the X stands out from a stock Hellcat thanks to aviation-inspired air extractors on the hood, model-specific accents on the grille, an adjustable splitter up front and an air diffuser integrated into the rear bumper. Interior pictures are not available yet, but the one-off reportedly features Hellcat X emblems embroidered into the floor mats and the seat backs.

To sweeten the deal, the lucky winner will also take home the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T that starred in Dodge’s Revolution Reborn TV commercial that aired in 2012. Powered by a 375-horsepower 440-cubic inch V8 engine, the Challenger has been restored to better-than-new condition.

Both Challengers will be raffled off by Dream Giveaway, and the proceeds will be donated to New Beginning Children’s Home. Tickets start at $3, though Dream Giveaway points out that the winner will need to pay $40,000 in taxes.
