Once a haven for well-heeled car collectors, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is increasingly becoming a stopgap event between auto show seasons. The latest new car to debut during the festivities is the limited-edition Infiniti Q70 Premium Select Edition.
A well-trained eye will notice the Premium Select Edition gains a sprinkling of dark chrome trim, a black insert in the rear bumper, a discreet trunk spoiler and model-specific 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped by all-season performance tires.
Inside, the special Q70 offers aluminum-look trim on the dashboard, the door panels and the center console, new floor mats with contrast piping and a suede-like headliner. Both Graphite and Stone leather upholstery are available.
Premium Select Edition can choose from two engines, a 3.7-liter V6 that makes 330 horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque, and a 5.6-liter V8 that’s rated at 420 horsepower and 417 lb-ft. of torque. Both engines transfer power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive can be ordered at an extra cost.
The 2016 Infiniti Q70 Premium Select Edition will go on sale nationwide in November. How much of a premium it will carry over the regular Q70 and how many examples will be built will be announced closer to its on-sale date.
