SEMA LIVE: Hyundai Legato Concept

November 6, 2013

Hyundai has pulled the veil from the Legato, a Genesis Coupe-based concept that was co-developed with longtime SEMA partner ARK Performance.

In Italian ‘Legato’ is a musical term meaning “tied together”, and the Legato Concept lives up to that billing by “conveying the seamless integration of exotic design, tuned performance and luxury coupe interior ambience”, according to Hyundai.

The Legato Concept features a unique ARK body kit that includes new front and rear bumpers, side skirts and deck lid. The Legato Concept boasts a lowered suspension and rides on Rays Engineering wheels wrapped in Nitto rubber.

The SEMA concept is finished off in a racing silver hue.

“The ARK Legato Concept demonstrates the compelling appeal and versatility of the original Genesis Coupe production concept,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president, product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “ARK Performance has taken this original concept and expanded its appeal to the most demanding premium coupe owners at a whole new level.”

In order to back up its aggressive looks, the Genesis Coupe’s standard 3.8L V6 has been punched out to 4.0L, boosting horsepower to 400 and torque to 425 lb-ft.
