SEMA LIVE: Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Edition

November 6, 2013

Toyota is sending its FJ Cruiser off into the sunset with a special Trail Teams Ultimate Edition. Toyota confirmed at the SUV’s debut at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas that the 2014 model year will be the final year of production for the FJ.

Taking cues from the iconic Land Cruiser FJ40, the FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Edition features a “Heritage Blue” paint job and white painted front grille surround.

More than just a classic paint scheme, the FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Edition boasts off-road improvements like a TRD front skid plate, 16-inch bead lock wheels, rock rails, roof rack and an upgraded suspension system.

Backing up those off-road chops, the FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Edition comes standard with four-wheel drive, Active Traction Control, Crawl Control (available with automatic transmission only), Vehicle Skid Control with off switch and a locking rear differential.

Pricing hasn’t been announced, but the 2014 FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Edition will arrive in dealer showrooms February. Toyota plans to build just 2,500 examples of the special edition SUV.
