Hyundai and Fox Marketing Car have teamed up to create an especially potent Veloster Turbo for the SEMA aftermarket show in Las Vegas.
Not your everyday Veloster, Fox has managed to tune the turbo hatch’s 1.6L engine to an impressive 370 horsepower. In order to achieve that stratospheric power rating, Fox swapped out the Veloster’s factory-fitted turbo for a much larger unit from BorgWarner. The tune also includes a new intercooler, ECU tweak and 101-octane performance fuel.
Hyundai claims the Fox Marketing Veloster is the “most powerful street-focused Veloster Turbo ever.”
In order to keep that power under control, the show car also features chassis bracing and a coil-over suspension. Braking duties are handled by 13.6-inch discs up front with six-piston calipers.
“The Veloster Turbo was designed with affordable performance in mind,” said Scott Margason, director, product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “Fox Marketing’s unique concept showcases the versatility of our turbocharged 4-cylinder Gamma engine family while expanding the overall performance envelope for the Veloster line.”
