GMC teases Detroit-bound 2017 Acadia

January 8, 2016

GMC has published a dark teaser image that previews the all-new 2017 Acadia.

Posted on the company’s official Facebook page, the teaser image reveals the Acadia’s rear fascia receives LED tail lamps connected by a bar of chrome trim. Earlier spy shots suggest the front end gets horizontal headlights with LED daytime running lights and an oversized grille.

Inside, the next Acadia will benefit from the latest generation of GMC’s IntelliLink infotainment system, and it will be compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The new model will continue to offer space for up to eight passengers, but it will turn the tech dial up to 11 with driving aids such as adaptive cruise control.

WorldCarFans speculates the Acadia will launch with a new 3.6-liter V6 engine. Front-wheel drive will come standard, and all-wheel drive will be offered at an extra cost. Rumors indicate that a turbocharged four-cylinder engine will be added to the lineup a little later in the production run, but GMC is keeping official technical details under wraps for the time being.

GMC will introduce the 2017 Acadia online in the coming days, and the crossover is scheduled to land in showrooms next summer. Since the Acadia is getting replaced, it’s safe to bet that new versions of the Chevrolet Traverse and the Buick Enclave are right around the corner.
