Alfa Romeo 4C gets premium interior, more carbon fiber for 2016

January 16, 2016

Alfa Romeo has revised its 4C Coupe and 4C Spider, adding a wide range of enhancements and new features for the 2016 model year.

Already built upon a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, the 4C is now available with even more composite construction. A carbon-fiber trim package uses the lightweight material for the interior vents, instrument cluster and other components.

A new premium leather interior has been added, pairing Tobacco and black sport seats with a black leather interior with contrast stitching.

The Spider’s Alpine audio system now ships as standard equipment on the Coupe variant, while both body styles benefit from new premium speakers. The Spider also adds an improved alarm system.

Rounding out the 2016 upgrades, a new Akrapovic titanium exhaust system will be available. The dual-mode plumbing has been computer designed with asymmetrical mufflers to further reinforce the 4C’s engine acoustics. The mufflers are said to eliminate in-cabin droning.

Alfa Romeo has not announced pricing details for the improvements, which could sweeten the proposition as the brand continues its latest foray into the North American market. The Italian marque sold 663 units in the US last year.
