Volvo has detailed Polestar enhancements for its T6 all-wheel-drive powertrain.
Found in the S60, V60, XC60 and XC90, the T6 AWD option already delivers from 300 to 325 horsepower, depending on the specific configuration. Rather than adding more power, the latest Polestar upgrades focus on responsiveness and dynamics.
Engineers tweaked management algorithms, increasing midrange engine performance and improving throttle response, while the transmission controller promises to deliver faster gearshifts optimized shift timing and gear holding through corners. Off-throttle behavior has also been revised.
“We have spent countless hours on creating a balanced package for performance oriented Volvo drivers, using the same philosophy and methods as for our race and performance cars,” said Polestar Cyan Racing development driver Thed Björk.
The company claims the warranty-compliant revisions do not negatively affect fuel consumption or emissions output. Additional details, including pricing, will likely be announced closer to availability.
