British tuner Kahn Design is commemorating the end of the Land Rover Defender’s long production run with a limited-edition model aptly called End Edition.
Starting with a seven-seater Defender 110, the tuner has added a full body kit that includes fender flares, new bumpers on both ends, and a specific grille. A lifted suspension helps the End Edition get over rough terrain, but its off-road prowess is somewhat limited by the fact that it rides on 20-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped by tires with a relatively low profile.
The cabin is spruced up with quilted seats, a custom steering wheel with chromed spokes, a new instrument cluster, machined aluminum pedals, and a Churchill clock in the center console.
Mechanically, the End Edition uses a stock, Defender-sourced 2.2-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine that generates 122 horsepower and 265 lb-ft. of torque in its most basic state of tune. The turbo four spins all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, and it sends the Defender from zero to 60 mph in a little over 15 seconds. Buyers who need to go faster can order the Kahn Power Upgrade, a plug-in unit that improves performance and fuel economy by re-mapping the ECU.
Kahn’s Defender End Edition is on sale now in the United Kingdom with a base price of £55,999 (approximately $80,000). How many examples will be built is up in the air at this point.
