Competition Blue chosen as new 2014 SRT Viper color

The name of the newest SRT Viper color, chosen from a contest that saw over 11,000 entries, is Competition Blue. The striking shade was first shown at the 2013 SEMA show, but at the time the official name had yet to be decided.�

Starting in October, Chrysler held the “SRT Viper Color Contest” so that fans of the supercar could become lend a hand while spreading news of the car across social networks. The top three finalists were chosen by Chrysler’s SRT (Street and Racing Technology) team, with the winner being Patryk Skarzynski of Chicago, Illinois. The runners up were Overtaking Blue and Viral Blue (really).

As a prize, Skarzynski receives a trip to the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona to watch the race with the Chrysler design team. He has also “become part of Viper history,” according to SRT president Ralph Gilles.

Competition Blue will debut on the 2014 SRT Viper.
