Ram 1500 Yellow Rose heads to Texas showrooms

March 17, 2016

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has introduced a new special-edition pickup, the Ram 1500 Yellow Rose of Texas, that will be sold exclusively in the Lone Star state.

The name is a reference to the mid-1800s American folk song that was later revived by Mitch Miller and Elvis Presley.

The limited-edition Yellow Rose pickup is based on the Ram 1500 Lone Star, clad in Stinger Yellow exterior paint. It will be available in half-ton 4×2 and 4×4 crew cab variants.

The company claims to be the first to offer special packages designed specifically for Texans, dating back to the first Ram Lone Star edition in 2002. The company last year introduced a one-off Ram Texas Ranger concept, celebrating the Texas Ranger Division.

“The importance of the Texas truck market cannot be overstated,” says Ram brand head Mike Manley. The state is said to have the most pickup owners in the country.
