A photo of what is likely the new Toyota Hilux has been leaked from what appears to be a print advert or brochure image.
The picture of the famously unkillable pickup sold everywhere the Tacoma isn’t (basically the world beyond North America) seems to match the truck in photographs that surfaced this past February. Those images, originally thought to be taken in a transport vessel, were actually taken inside a Toyota’s Thailand factory.
While the cab and bed are very similar to the Tacoma (but really, how much variation can you have with those?) its edges, particularly the fender arches and grille, are more rounded that the US-market pickup. Headlights and grille flow together in one large graphic up front, and unlike the February photos, this one has large round fog lamps embedded in the bezels located at each corner.
The Facebook fan page where the image was posted, Hilux Revo Thailand, has many other spy shots and renderings of the truck, both with camouflage and without. The site also states that petrol, diesel and hybrid versions are expected.
As the workhorse of choice in many developing countries, the Hilux is an important vehicle for Toyota, and this will mark its first major redesign in 10 years.
