Called MK1, Carice’s latest creation takes the form of a tiny two-seater roadster whose design pays homage to the iconic Porsche 356. The MK1 features a plastic body that rides on a backbone chassis, a setup that lowers the roadster’s weight to just 771 pounds and gives it a 50/50 weight distribution.
The MK1 boasts a retro-inspired cockpit with a three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel, bucket seats and an uncluttered metal dashboard that boasts three analog gauges as well as an assortment of switches and warning lights. A hard top is not available but the MK1 comes standard with a tonneau cover.
Technical details are vague at best, but Carice says the MK1 will be offered with either 20 or 54 horsepower. Regardless of tune, the motor will get electricity from a lithium-ion battery pack cleverly integrated into the chassis.
