As part of the promotional deal, McConaughey will star in a number of upcoming TV and digital campaigns that will focus on Lincoln’s newest utility vehicle. The video spots were created in conjunction with “Drive” director Nicolas Winding Refn.

McConaughey, described as a “longtime Lincoln admirer,” added: “Authenticity is a word that kept coming up in our initial meetings. It was clear from the start they appreciated me as an individual first and foremost, and I would be able to be myself in this collaboration. Lincoln is an iconic, American brand and I like where they are heading with their transformation. I had the chance to drive the new MKC around Texas and I think they’re doing a good job.”
The 2015 MKC is Lincoln’s first compact utility vehicle and will square off with vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz GLK and Audi Q5.
